Starting SADBE therapy

My 2 year old was finally diagnosed with AA after a year of on-again off-again hair loss. Her Derm is going to try SADBE therapy. Has anyone had success? I have questions like do you wash hair with any special shampoo during treatment? Are there any tips for making this easier in her? Thanks for input :)
