Steroid shots: how long do the effects last?

hi I was just wondering if you've had shots. how long do the effects last and does the alopecia ever switch back on in those areas +/ does the hair stop growing after  while? 

sorry such a confusing question but its a confusing sort of disease. would be grateful if anyone had any info on this pleaseeee.

 It really depends, I had injections that lasted for 2 years but everyone will be different.
