At the stores, they are selling these Liv dolls. They are dolls with interchangeable wigs. They also have two other brands competing for this holliday business. I am so excited for my daughter to get them from Santa. It makes wearing wigs cool and glamorous!
All the kids in her class already think it is cool she wears wigs. I have witnessed the children touching her wigs, and she tells me that some of the girls have asked if they could try them on.
She is in first grade.

Wonderful!

I watched the video.....so each doll ( only $19.95!) comes with 2 wigs so that's a given.

Wish I was a kid again,

What is the doll called this sounds pretty cool
Liv "teenagers" dolls are direct competition to Barbie...a new trend. Here's the link about the how and why with photos of the guys who're creating her to be the not-Barbie.

Looks like she's running about $15-$17 (US) each for the basic doll and starter clothes.

Liv Dolls Sophie, Katie, Alexis & Daniela totally ROCK. Each of these 4 teen dolls has a separate personality & as noted comes with 2 wigs. Wigs that you can style, cut or curl.
The web site is livworld.com
My niece loves hers, she has Sophie & Santa may be bringing fellow friends.
Terri, thank you so very much for sharing this. Sounds like someone has been very good & Santa knows it.
How wonderful her classmates are so exceptional in accepting her being who she is. Which by the way may I say, what a cutie.
Take Care.

Thanks for the kind words. There is also another company called Moxie Girlz. They are a bit more edgy with guitars and rock accessories. They also have wigs to style and interchange for different looks. They are also under $20.00 a doll with accessories.
Annie, Claudia also didn't like to wear her wigs. She found them to get in her way. It wasn't until about two months ago that she insists on wearing a wig to school everyday. She is in love with a boy in her class. She has to wear a uniform to school, but she manages to wear the most lacey socks or fancy stockings. And different wigs. Sometimes blonde, sometimes red and sometimes brunette. She puts on sooo many ribbons, headbands, braids, glittery clips. It is very funny to watch, all in the name of love. God help us when she turns 16.
They sound like a great way to make girls feel cool about wearing a wig. I'm curious, though, what the dolls look like without the wig. Do they look bald? The one video I found on YouTube seems to have the head painted brown.
My daughter has Daniela. They are on sale at Target for a limited time for $17. The doll has painted on hair underneath like a short haircut. She wants Sophie next. I agree they are great dolls.
Darn. It's too bad they don't have bald heads. Think what that would've meant to girls who've lost their hair due to AA or chemo. Why'd they have to paint on hair?!
Must be regrowth.
LOL - but we need an Alopecian doll that has regrowth and bald spots.
Yes, that would be best. Maybe the doll could come with tiny tattoo stickers that you could put on her head, like AW member Dotty and others!
OMG, my favorite doll when I was a kid was called "Wiggy". She came with really short hair, and three wigs. I actually cut all the hair off my other dolly so she could wear Wigg's wigs!
This is a great idea. You' re right, we will all be perceived as "glamorous"
