I have to say, I don't know how others draw their eyebrows on, or if many others do, but ever since I started wearing wigs, I've been firm on always drawing on my eyebrows each and everyday. Well, now after doing it for so long, people keep saying, very rudely/demanding i guess, that i should just get them tattooed on and not have to worry about drawing them on everyday and if they are similar or not. It's not something I have ever considered only because I think it would be a waste of my money because I have met people who had theirs done, and they eventually faded and then had to color them in again anyways. Anyone have pros/cons/experiences of tattooing their eyebrows on? (Plus, I enjoy making my eyebrows a little different each day rather than with them the same ones every day)

I agreee with Aimee. I used to draw my on. Could never get them to match. Got my first tattoo after a NAAF convention in San Francisco, by people who knew what they were doing. Even though they did fade eventually, there was always enough for me to follow with a brow pencil.  I had them touched up two years ago by a girl who worked with a MD and the numbing stuff was AWESOME. I could not believe how much it did NOT hurt. Last time I had it done, it was with only 7% lidocane, which helped but was nothing like the pain free experience.  Plus they peeled off, even though I lived in A & D ointment for 10 days.  Bottom line for me:  BEST THING I EVER DID --- get the tattoo. There are some who specialize in the stroke methods of eyebrow tattoos. Looks awesome.

I guess I do alright drawing mine on, some days they dont match AT ALL, but others they look really good, but people just always like, point it out to me. or i smear them off or i sweat them off, something. sometimes its frustrating too

Hi Sierra,  I think I'm in a  similar boat as you. I have AU. I have been drawing on my eyebrows every day for at least 14 years.   I have a steady hand and I think I do a good job with my drawing. My hand is steady and I used to sketch (draw artistically) so perhaps that helps.    Knowing so many people have tattooed brows, I explored that option but given the price (for me, quite unaffordable) and the short-term nature of "permanent" make-up, I haven't seen the point.  A friend of mine's mother had her brows tattooed - and the artist tattooed the brows in an expression that makes my friend's mom look like she's permanently angry!  Not a good look!

I think if a person struggles to sketch on brows, then the permanent make-up is a good option. But if you're not struggling, I wouldn't bother. And certainly find an artist who knows what she or he is doing!

And in terms of other people's opinions - I think there are always people that will have nothing better to do but offer an unsolicited piece of advice.   The older I get, I find the people that are most prone to comment negatively on my wigs or my appearance are generally people who seem discontent in their own skin.   And no matter what you choose to do or not do, these are the sorts of people who will always find fault with something about you (or other people).   Try to ignore them.
