I'm curious about the ways in which people have approached telling people. Up until now I've felt that this is personal and didn't want to discuss or tell co-workers. Now I'm starting to feel like it would be a load off my shoulders. I'm sick of spending two hours getting ready & hiding my spots in the mornings. I'm at a new job - only in my 4th week. Everyone is really nice and I do not fear not being accepted, I just don't know how to approach it.

I teach, and if students ask, I make up an obvious lie like I don't want to reveal my party mohawk at school...and they give up asking. Current school: no one has even asked, but I did let staff in on it in case a kid ever pulled it off and I needed support.
Tallgirl- I love it! you need to have a sense of humor about it. I tell my husband all the time when he stresses me out that he is going to make be bald. :) Other people say they are going to get gray hairs.. i am going to have none.. haha!
I have to say it's just a matter of telling that first person. Once you've done that the second and third and so on, aren't so hard. Not nearly as hard. And it's good to let people know. Nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of. The more people know about AA the better.
