I was okay with loosing all the hair on my head, regrowing it, loosing it again and so on. Then lately I was even okay with loosing hair on my arms, legs, other areas on the body. I am okay if this stupid illness takes all my body hair BUT, don't take my frickin eyebrows or lashes. That's just going too far now. My friend is going through chemo right now and she lost all her hair but she didn't loose her eyebrows. So that tells us that alopecia is much more powerful than chemotherapy. It's just ridiculous. Today I read online that researchers partially reversed aging in mice. How about the researchers find a fricking cure for this illness instead. Find a way so I can keep my darn eyebrow.

Sorry, I just had to vent my frustration. :-(

steriods like they do on your head?
Yep, steroids. I probably get them injected about 2 times per year.
Thanks John. You are brave for enduring steroid shots into the eyelashes. Wow. Thankfully I only lost a few lashes at this point. I might get some shots into the brows though. Right now I am still using the squaric acid on the brows.
you know......maybe a poll or something would be good on this topic's available items to use and some others. like....
what you have used...liked...didn't like....got you by....so on.
Great idea Maryann. How do you propose we start? I am interested in hearing what people find helpful, whether its medical, makeup, stress reduction, sun, etc... After all these years for me its been constant injections, topical steroids, minoxidil. I also believe in stress reduction and getting sun, having an X to deal with makes this my greatest challenge :) I also use a make-up powder that is brushed on any new spots.
I love my tattooed eyebrows, one less thing to worry about and they look great! I went to a place in Toronto that does the permanent makeup and it's not like a real tattoo that stays with you a lifetime, cost me $560.00, I go back tomorrow for touch up, it takes two visits, and if my eyebrows do grow back? then I have the perfect outline if I ever need to pluck. Not like I would ever pluck a hair again, those treasured little devils.
Hi Andrea,
My heart goes out to you and everyone with no eyebrows! I have to say I found a wonderful site that sells the temporary tattoo eyebrows I absolutely LOVE! They have several styles and colors to match almost all complexions. My eyebrows went about 2 years ago and I've used these ever since. Right now they're having a great sale, too, a buy one get one free thing. Take a look. http://www.tattoobrows.com

Love you all
Thanks Jennifer. Good to know. I am almost ready to order some. Right now I am still hanging on for dear life.
My right eyebrow has been missing the inner half for a while now. The left is starting to go. Of course it starts in the middle. So depressing. I wear fake eyebrows that I get online. My husband has to apply them because I don't have center vision in either eye. I never thought of a tattoo. Not sure how to locate someone that is good at hair strokes. It's all so depressing and, even though it shouldn't, it brings on low self esteem (for me).
Hi Kim, I searched YELP in your area for permanent eyebrows but nothing great came up. Maybe your doctor can suggest someone or call a few tattoo places in your area and see if they can recommend anyone. Just an idea. Good luck.
Hey Andrea!

I just read a blog, about one of our sisters, who was questioning others about were to by eyebrows. Well another one of our sister Ms. G gave this website http://www.headcovers.com/cosmetics/eyebrows/

By the way Ms. G had it on and Andrea! she looked stunning.

Check it out and update us!
I just started with "latisse"... It hasn't been proven with alopecia patients yet, but i figure it's worth a shot!! I'm also applying it to my eyebrows. I haven't seen much change as of yet (about 2 weeks in). I know someone with alopecia areata who is using it for her eyelashes, and she said it's working great!! She isn't missing as many as I am though ;)
