Thursday is the big day...getting my haircut!

I just made an appointment with my sister's hair dresser to cut my hair chin length on Thursday so I will start wearing my wig.. (yikes!) She was so nice, she told me to bring in the wig and she will shape/style it while I am wearing it so it will be exactly what I want. I am so nervous....but I know that this is the first step in crossing that bridge to the other side of acceptance.

I am a little worried about seeing how bad my alopecia actually is underneath all this hair....I am afraid it is going to look a lot worse than I think. My pact with myself is if 50% or more is gone, I'm shaving it off.

Jenna, I'm excited for you that you found a hair dresser that is so positive, and will help with the wig also, I bought a wig a few years ago when I had a tremendous amount of loss, but at that time my ophiasis pattern was being covered, barely by my hair that I had left, I was able to suffer through without wearing the wig, but came very close, I wish I had, had the same experience with someone able to shape and cut the wig for me, as it just looked like a wig, so much it made me uncomfortable, I think if I had someone to thin it that would have made all the difference...and I would have been able to wear it and I would not have just had to "suffer through" Best of luck to you, hope to hear a great response when you post again :-)

congrats Jenna! It's so cool that you have a hairdresser that you can trust. I haven't found one here yet in Singapore and I don't think i need one right now since I am shaved. But it's still nice to have one who can help cut the wig and everything. Have fun on Thursday!

Me too=] Currently my hair is just past chest with massive amounts extensions and clip in bangs to cover up my spots.but it's just getting thinner and thinner. so tomm. is the big day I'm taking it all really short for wig wearing.But god bless and I am sure you will look simply amazing with your new hair. goodluck!!!!
