Hi,
I already did the treatments of Topical Immunotherapy and PUVA simultaneously but I do not concluded it because I needed to wear a wig and it becomes complicated to make this kind of treatment in this condition. But I always was under the impression that could have resulted, specially because I had some experiences of regrowth with the sun, but I always returned to use my wig an the hair falled out again. I am trying to find out more information because I am thinking to return to do the treatment with Topical Immunotherapy and PUVA. If someone knows something about it could share it? Thanks a lot!!
kisses

I don't know anything about that really but am interested. I just wanted to say when I tan my hair grows more, the uv really does affect our silly immune systems:)
Hi Rose, my daughter Samantha is doing squaric acid. It is immunotherapy. Are you looking for info on this kind of treatment. If so, I am happy to tell you about our experience thus far. She is having regrowth now, but it takes time and patience. Cindy
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for the reply. I don't know that treatment. But I would like to know and follow the treatment of your daughter to know the results. That's what we all try to see if there may be positive to have hope. Rose
Hi Rose, Samantha is doing squaric acid immunotherapy, also known as SADBE. We started the process a year ago. Basically we put a solution of acetone on her scalp and her the treated areas produces a response in the form of a rash and she gets an itchy scalp. To start her arm was sensitized with a solution of squaric acid. Her arm responded with a rash a few days later. She also got a blister 10 days later and we had to wait for it to clear. We don't want blisters but it can happen. Because of the reactions Sam had when we started the doctors started her slowly and we gradually increased area size and frequency. Finally in March she was ready to have weekly treatments. By the summer we saw the first signs are regrowth. Now, she has hair on about 60% of her scalp that is growing thicker as more layers come in. She still has some areas of no growth yet. Although the lashes and brows are not treated the meds work through your entire body. She has a few brows come in, but they have not stayed. The doctor says be patient. This treatment can be somewhat uncomfortable at times, but my daughter chooses to stick with it. It takes time and patience because it does not work over night..If you have any questions please let me know..Cindy
