A couple of years ago, I tried waxing as a way to get to a completely uniform and smooth head. Unfortunately, I only made it through a couple of "rips." The pain was very intense and my roots were too imbedded to be removed easily (at the time I had the traditional MPB pattern). Because my MPB became quite irregular, I decided to go with laser hair removal which I'm currently undergoing. I've had 7 treatments with the next one scheduled for Friday this week. So far about 70% of my hair is gone, with only the upper back still somewhat resistant. I'm hoping that increasing the energy of the laser will take care of the rest. The treatments have decreased in their discomfort as the hair has thinned. Even at its worst, the pain from laser hair removal has been far less than the pain from waxing.
Sugaring is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is sugaring?
I have been thinking about doing this myself. Keep us posted as to what method you end up using and how it turns out.
Ok, i've done some research and I finally found two spas that would be willing to waxing my head, if I get enough courage I'm going to have it done monday. I'll keep you guys posted
Well.......??????
Ive looked into this myself as Ive found shaving really irritating, short lasting, and generally non-satisfactory in terms of results.

Read a few threads on alternative scalp hair removal - without finding many satisfactory solutions. But three popular alternatives:

Laser: Effective - permanent, but costy, takes numerouse treatments, and maybe a little scary (are there any risks???)

Waxing: Uber painfull, not sure how long results will last, or how good they will be, and then you have to wait for the hair to grow back to a certain length before you next waxing... Also, from what ive read, expect blood, and a red head for a couple of days...

Epilation: Again, its gonna hurt like hell, but apparently gets the result, i read that after epilating long term, the hair will cease to grow.

Its a tough one - but if you do it please do let us know how it works out!
Well, I have not waxed yet thought I still want to I punck out. I called the spa spoke to the tech had everything set up and I punked out, I was scared it might hurt and I would not be able to finish...now I'm thinking I might need to try it at home first .
