Hello all. I am on a search for the perfect wig! I want the most natural looking unit possible. I want to be able to part it anywhere and it look like the hairs are growing from my scalp! And baby hairs around the entire perimeter. Which I have seen on many websites, I'm just not sure which is the best site to get it from. Also I don't like using the glue method, mainly because I don't know how, and when I bought my first full lace wig that required glue I messed it up the cap entirely...I still have the $300 unit just can't wear it... :(  But anyways I've been looking all over, my price range for a full lace human hair unit it from $100-400. I will post a few of the sites that I am interested in and if anyone knows of these units or knows of a better website please please please let me know!!

You and me both, along with so many others I am sure, are looking for the perfect wig. Whether it be HH or synthetic.  Just perfect.  HH would be best option I feel for me.  But needs to be glueless.  I want a wig I can quickly put on, and go.  And get back home and take it off just as quickly.  A wig that won't all tangle up, when wearing and when washing.  A wig that will fit my head perfectly, and I can still wear a baseball cap or hat over it, and it would fit just fine. (need sun protection) I always hear about "baby hairs" but for the life of me, I can't figure out what they are!!  My bio hair doesn't have "baby hairs" or at least I don't feel that it does.  I also am tired of spending $$ on wigs that don't suit me, and I won't wear, and being taken to the cleaners by people trying to sell me an option. I also wonder why the heck all the HH wigs seem to come in preposterous lengths.  Why do we seemingly have to pay for countless inches of hair, that we are only going have cut off anyway? I am not interested in hair much longer than my shoulders.  Who can one trust ????  And I don't have hundreds and hundreds, even thousands of dollars to spend/waste.

Baby hairs are the fine hairs around your entire head. Say you have you hair in a high pony and on the nape of your neck are the fine silky hairs. Its kind of like a hair line within the hair line. I prefer them very much so, but also have learned to make my own if the wig of my liking doesn't have them. Yes I also am tired of spending money and the wig only lasting a period of time. I know they say the wigs aren't for sleeping in..but what about when I'm on a plane or train ride? Or spending the night at a friends, I want to keep my hair and it not shift and slide off then look like hell when I wake up.

Yes I don't understand all these lengths either. I'm 4'11 I don't need anything longer than 16' I like all lengths of hair...I can work with them, but I do want my main one to be long and flowing. I wan't to be able to scratch my head without the wig shifting and secretly pulling it down and hoping no one noticed. I want to be able to do all hairstyles not just 4 simple low hairstyles. I want to braid my hair, or wear pigtails, I want a scalp to show! I can handle being bald, I actually enjoy it. I just want the perfect wig! Is there such a thing? I guess if I had the right money I would know the answer.

I wish more people would reply and give me some information.

My favorite solution lately is a very affordable one. I buy custom-sized units from orderwigsonline.com in the least expensive hair (Indian remy). I buy the cap with French or Swiss lace front and stretch lace back. Twelve inches costs about $200 (which includes the shipping) when they offer a coupon (which is all the time). My experience with customer service has been excellent. The units fit my very small head quite nicely. I then buy Dermafix kits from Lori's Wigsite for around $50 (or less when they have coupons) and sew the Dermafix in strategic locations in the cap. One Dermafix kit will serve me for two wigs. I don't need a lot.

This has worked perfectly for me. I only use a little dab of Got 2b Glued around the perimeter when I wear the hair brushed back off my face. Most of the time, I just pull down the baby hairs and a wispy bang...no glue. I do a lot of ballroom dancing for hours at a stretch in very warm situations. The hair has never come off or even slipped. And the stretch lace back is quite soft and comfortable, and cool.

I use a Wen-type shampoo and Argan Oil conditioner and Argan Oil between shampoos. Every few weeks, I will deep condition the hair using coconut oil (same stuff that I cook with). I let the units air dry and style them using hot rollers, curling iron, or flat iron, depending on the look I want.

I would say that the units last about six months before I start to see wear and tear on the cap. I generally buy around four units a year so that I always have a clean one on hand, and sometimes I like to have a few at different lengths for variety. It took a few orders to get the exact mix of colors that are perfect for me, and I've learned not to order highlights (they chunk them, which I don't like).

I put these wigs through the ringer -- lots of sweating from vigorous exercise, and they work fine for me for a long time. I've learned to cut my own wigs into chin-length angled bobs and to thin around the face using thinning shears to achieve a very natural look.

Ordering online is always a gamble, and everyone has different ideas of what they want from their hair. Over the course of my 42 years of experience with alopecia, I've had everything from cheap synthetics, to vacuum wigs, to the Gripper. Maybe I am just very pedestrian, but for comfort and appearance, the units from Orderwigsonline.com are my favorites. I might feel differently if someone else were footing the bill for my hair, but I am nearing retirement, own a home, and have a mortgage to pay. I don't mind ordering several $200 units a year; $800 a year for good looking hair is a bargain. My friends and relatives with hair pay more for cuts and coloring.

Another observation that I've made: if your wig cap fits your head correctly, you should need very little adhesive. With my custom units. I either sew in Dermafix or use a light layer of Got2BGlued spiking glue (the stuff kids use to make mohawks) or It Stays roll on adhesive. These are water soluble and wash out easily with water, doing no damage to your wig cap or hair. The key is getting a good fit for your head. It may take a few orders to get that precise, but once you do, it's great.

You should choose a silk top wig if you want the hair look like growing from your own scalp.Last month I found one I think its very good to meet your needs:

How do you think this one?
