Hi all...
I'm thinking about shaving my head. I don't want to go to a hair stylist; I just want to do it myself. What's the best way? Any help would be good--I'm clueless.

If your hair is long, cut it short short first...then use electric clippers if you have them, to get a close buzz...if you want a smooth, shiny bald result after that, I love using the Headblade rather than a regular razor. Google it to learn more, but the shape makes it a breeze to shave a curved head. Hope this helps to start!
Me, too. I really like the Headblade product. It goes much faster, easier, more precise because it's designed to shave a round surface.

Cut it short first and finish off with the razor. The high quality triple blades made a huge difference in the result and the comfort. It doesn't pay to skimp and struggle with cheap blades.

Make sure you head is warmed up in the shower so your pores are opened. Use gel or foam ( I prefer gel), Take your time. It gets faster with practice. Go extra slow behind the ears.

Because of the position of the headblade holder on your finger, you have more control and can feel what you're doing much much better. It also makes it nearly foolproof that you will keep the blade cutting side close to your scalp and won't have ooopsies accidentally nicking yourself. They are also lighter weight than a high quality long handled blade holder if you travel a lot when every tenth ounce matters.

I can't get a close enough shave with an electric myself, but I admit I only tried with the one my husband uses. Try several methods to see what works best.

Hi

Just as Seed said, but my daughter chooses to use an electric shaver for a close shave.

P.S. I've heard good things about the Headblade as well though.
Interested to know why you say this Susanna... I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference.
The first time I shaved my head I was with a group of close girlfriends and everyone had a go cutting off the long bits, then one of them buzzed it with clippers. One of them took lots of photos of the whole event. It was fun and we had a big celebratory dinner and lots of wine afterwards!
The next day, I shaved it myself with a razor so it looked more even. Now for maintenance, I use the headblade. I can go over my head pretty quickly in the shower now.
