I have been wearing a human hair wig since May 2018. The weather has now gotten colder (yeah, Canada!) & I am having problems with flyaway hair. Pulling a hood over the wig intensifies the flyaway situation. Once the temperature drops to -28- -35C I will require more than just a hood...scarf/hat? Have any AA sufferers found a solution to the flyaway hair & retention of warmth for the head/ears during cold weather?
Thanks,
Carla

Use a static spray or rub with a fabric softener sheet to reduce fly away hair. Then put on your cap and stay warm.
Hi Carla,
Coming from Ireland, I've had very similar problems! I recommend using a headband, one of the stretchy ones that cover your ears. Hats don't always work as you can get that 'helmet hair' look and not the best for say, festive dinners with friends! If you get a cute woolly headband, you can keep it on all evening and no one will be the wiser. Good luck! x
Don’t spray the wig, spray static guard on your hair brush, hats, hood, etc
I use Aveda Smooth Infusion shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes in the summer they are a little too much conditioning (depending on the wig), but they take care of static. Can get at a local Aveda dealer or online. Kind of expensive but worth it to me.
Yes I use Aveeda too, same stuff very excellent
so we are all assuming you mean like static hair but is that what you mean? Or do you mean your wig gets tugged and feels like it's falling off when you wear a hood? I feel that sometimes! I keep a coconut oil cream with me and rub the ends periodically!
Fly aways are tough, but I can never get a hat on my wig because then I feel like I am wearing two hats! Plus my head is already covered so I don’t feel that cold. But my ears get cold so my solution is a sort of ski ear muff that expands to fit and goes from ear to ear around the lower back of my head towards the nape. When I walk the dog alone or by myself I just wear a giant hat that covers my whole head and ears that wouldn’t show any hair anyway. The whole thing sucks
