Hi All,
I am looking for any suggestions in how to keep a wig on your head when dealing with alopecia. My sister feels it is sliding on and off her head. We wanted to stay away from glue because we thought it could be damaging to her hair as it tries to regrow back in . What have you guys used ? Any unconventional methods that have been successful ? Anything that you have used and thought was successful would be so helpful .

Thank you all.

I swear by Got2B Glued spiking glue -- the stuff kids use to make their hair stand up spiky and stiff. Since it is formulated to be used as a hair gel, it probably wouldn't hurt natural hairs.

I agree with Amy, though, that a good fit is most important. I use the Got2B Glued to keep the lace around my face stuck down flat. My wigs are made to my head measurements and are an excellent fit. The Got2B Glued just provides a little extra security.

On the lace wig that I take on and off a lot during the day, I sewed in some Dermafix. The Dermafix material works wonderfully to adhere to skin or hair. You can buy it from Lori's WigSite (no relation. lol)

Hello,

I use double sided wig tape a lot. The best brand is "walker". You can get the roll or just the pre cut pieces. I use both. I put on a wig cap...then I use the roll of tape to cover the sides, front , back and top of heat...and pretty much push my wig onto the tape....it stays for days or weeks.
If you wear lace wigs...you can use lace glue around the edges.

There are many kinds of wigs on the website. - http://www.onlywig.com/
