I am a wigaholic! Yes, I have purchased both. I had the "Always" by Raquel Welch, and "Blair" from Jon Renau. Actually, both of those brands just came out with new wig collections for 2012! I wrote about them & included links to view them on my blog... http://lifeasabaldgirl.wordpress.com/
I also have some wig reviews & pictures on my blog (link above). I would suggest that you join wigsupport.com. It is a great website. My main suggestion to you would be to stay away from heat friendly wigs for your first wig. I would see if there is a wig store near you, and go try some on. Ask to try on all of the different kinds. There are so many options! It depends on what you want to spend, and how realistic you want it. The most realistic wigs are those with a lace front and monofilament top. Those can range from $150 to $250 from online wig stores. If you get just a standard wig, those can range from $70 to $150. It is cheaper to buy online but not all of the websites allow returns. I could go on and on... I hope that helps.

The Always is the one I was looking at..Were you happy with it?

Oh no! Well... to be honest with you... No. However, my Mom told me recently that the "Always" is her favorite wig that I have worn because it looked realistic. My issue with it was that it tangled VERY easily. However, it was the 2nd wig that I ever owned. Also, I don't think that I was delicate enough with it. I may have not given it the attention that it needed. It had shedding more than my other wigs. I think that it had a lot of hair, maybe too much. It is my opinion, that they need to work on the heat resistant fiber. I don't think it is a good quality fiber. From what I have read on wigsupport.com, most women aren't big fans of any heat resistant/friendly fibers. I will say that I have thought about trying the "Always" again. Just know that if you do get it, be very gentle with it. Do not use a comb if you can, and try to get out the tangles using your fingers. I wouldn't expect to get a long life out of it. Unfortunately, the longer the wig, the shorter the life span of it. I typically wear shorter wigs because I can get more wear out of them. I hope that helps! If I were you, I would find one that doesn't have a heat resistant/friendly fiber.

I have searched for wig stores in my area and have had no luck. Kinda why I am asking for opinions on here :) I have watched a few videos on the different wigs listed and I think I will like the mono as well. The Lace front kinda scares me to be honest because I think it all depends on your skin tone if it will blend or not :(

My daughter hates the wig I got her (her first) because she says it feels like horsehair. She is petrified of any of her friends coming up and hugging her and touching her hair. I am thinking of getting her a HH wig. I am really confused by all the options out there. Where is a good place to buy? I was looking at the discontinued styles from Freeda because of the price. No way I can fork out 2k. Does anyone else offer discounts like that? Will there be big difference in the way it feels? I'm assuming it would. Thanks for any info.

My first two were RW. I like the styles very much. I wish I would have gotten a different color though. I got a lot of complements wearing them. Since they wer my first, not sure how to compare about the comfort. What types have you purchased in the past?

I have not bought from either one of the companies you mentioned. I have bought Gabor and Estetica brands. I honestly am so confused ... I don't know if any one brand is better than the other. I will be interested in hearing others' opinions.

I think I may be alone in this, but Ive been buying full lace human hair wigs from chinese vendors going on three years now. Much cheaper than american vendors. Ive not spent more than 235, including shipping on lengths of up to 16 inches. Im a wig a holic (Ive got about 25) .

To Sarah's Mom. I don't think you should buy a Freeda discontinued. the price is great, and the hair is truly EHH. But these are wigs that were made quite a while ago and I think the cap would irritate your daughter. They are made with the elastic ribbons that are wide and heavy and the cap is quite wide ear to ear-so the ear tabs will come down low on her.

I think a newer lighter style-maybe the synthetics suggested above or the Fortune wig.

Hi Autumnleaves could you please let me know the name of the Chinese vendor you use. Kind regards Kaye

This is Embrace, with long ends cut off after they got shabby. ^

You can see the blond Breeze (also Raquel Welch) on my page, last or second-to-last photo page.

Tried to attach a pic of me in one of my "cheap" RW wig (under $100 @ Ace Wigs), but it didn't work. Have always gotten tons of compliments on my hair (wigs).

Don't like Rene of Paris wigs as the fronts are so stiff and scratchy.
Be careful with synthetics as they can melt by being exposed to heat. Melted one when I opened the oven wearing a wig (and, lucky it didn't melt to my skin), sizzled one on the fringe at a Japanese restaurant where they cook with flaming fire while you sit around the grill, and sizzled / frizzled one in extreme outside heat & humidity.
