I saw some posts about wigs for children. I am new to alopecia, recently diagnosed myself. Therefore, I am still learning and researching. However, I have heard of a site called Locks of Love which makes wigs for children out of childrens hair. Hope this information can help someone. Jana

There's also Wigs for Kids. Locks of Love does a sliding scale payment based upon your income.
Can anyone explain why if Locks of Love donated approx $500,000 to "research" ie Miami Dept of Dermatology (per one of their recent IRS TAX filings) from money they earn on the sale on unusable donated hair, why every single wig is not 100% free to the child? Why over 10 years time did LOL by their own report supply about only 200 wigs?
Yup! I learned some interesting information about LOL when I was contemplating doing a charitable event to benefit Alopecia. I've since turned my measures over to helping out Wigs for Kids.
