I'm trying to find different wigs and options for children with alopecia. Where are the best places to find them and what are some of the options for children? It also might be good to know if there are different options for different ages, and for placement, etc.

Have you checked out the Hair Club for Kids? My daughter wore a wig from them for a year. They give 3 free hair replacements a year and 8 free service for kids age 6-17. Many of the girls on here wear them. My daughter found it comfy. www.hairclub.com, click on kids club to get the number for an application.
wigs for kids - http://www.wigsforkids.org/
(i got my first wig from there in 5th grade and i've gotten 3 more sent to me after that to replace the first one they gave to me and they do smaller children too :)

or you can try locks of love - http://www.locksoflove.org/
(i've heard great things about them!!)
There are wigs made for children which are smaller in size. I suggest you look for a synthetic wig (easy to care for) with a monofilament top (lining sewn inside).
