This is my first time being bald in very cold weather. I was so cold at my son's football game this morning! Would a liner help keep my head warm?

Also, I worry about wearing a winter hat over my wig, because I dont' know if the hat will squish the wig, make it staticky, or otherwise ruin it.

What do you think?

One of my cold weather solutions is a wardrobe of fur (sorry to affend any animal rights activitis) or faux fur wide head bands. They are about 4-5 " wide, wrap completely over the ears, overlap and velcro at the back. Very chic. For best prices I buy them in summer. My favorites are from Quebec.

Over your wig, they are secure and very pretty. Total coverage for the ears/forehead.

If you are going from house to game and back and don't need to be seen in hair during that time, another cozy and chic solution are the helmet styles that come over the ears and are also faux fur lined. They were all over the fashion ads last winter.

Here's a link to the faux fur pretty head band style they call "halo". What I have also done when I don't have any wig underneath, is do a pretty head wrap with a large fabric scarf ( min.32" x 32") and wear the fur halo over it. The fabric looks like the cap part of a hat. For added warmth and shape there are padded scarf liners you can buy,but I don't prefer them myself.

Hi Aimee,

If I need to wear a winter hat over my wig, I wear a looser style, knitted peak cap that I find doesn't squash my hair nearly as much as a regular beanie would. It still comes down over my ears so it keeps me warm though.

This is the only photo I could find of me wearing this hat - you can't see it too well but it kind of gives you the idea:
