Did you have them thinned out and bangs cut at the salon before taking them home? Most salons do this for free if you buy the wigs there. Many people think you have to wear them as they come out of the box..NOT!

How do they thin a wig, anyway? Thinning shears? I bought a pair, well then I returned them. I attempted to use them, but it seemed too difficult. I once saw a woman that owned a wig shop thinning someone's wig. She was just going to town, the wig was upside down, and she was combing or brushing through it like crazy. I have never gotten my wigs thinned, either, and maybe that is part of the problems. But I try to save money buying online, then to have to pay money again to have someone thin or trim them. Then I am right back up to the wig shop's price. And we all know they charge a small fortune for the wigs you see online. I am also afraid, how do I know the person knows what they are doing? If they ruin it, I am stuck with it. Like if they cut it too much, it isn't going to grow back like hair. So I never let anyone touch them.

I think for a wig to look good and not 'wiggy' it more often than not has to be customised and made to look like you. When I bought my first wig, my lovely hairdresser who had been doing my bio hair for years, came with me. She went for one that I probably wouldn't have but was absolutely right. Rather than the style, she went for the way the wig fell (similar to my hair) and went for slightly more length than I normally had. This gave her the space to recreate me. She did a superb job and I've had so many comments about my hair from people who don't know I have alopecia. I'm having a more expensive wig made at the moment and I will be having it personally styled as before.

Hi

I agree with ChrisM. Customisation helps a lot. I also think fully understanding what you want and how you want to present yourself is very important.

My daughter has a few different styles and I love all of them because she feels and looks great.

Good luck with finding something that helps.

thanks ladies for replying...
it is still a very long and hard process... and i dont know when i will ever be happy with a wig but i hope one day .. one day soon i will... good luck to every one ... and please some one pray for me that i will find a great realistic wig soon please.

I have the perfect wig, I have AU for over 20 years and never had a wig that I loved until now, Milano wigs, email toni@mcwigs.com, she can help you, you be amazed at quality, and priced really well, best wig of my life.

I love the wigs on that site, and the prices are not astronomical. But, I see no real blondes there to chose from. You are lucky having dark hair, you have so many choices.

:) Hi Lexi!!!, they have Nomi color very pretty also can make u a blonde by dying one. Yea true dark is easier... They have great prices, I was so surprised when I found them how reasonable the prices are. I love the wigs so much because so natural no one, now never says to me is that a wig

I don't understand what you are getting at. Yes, she uses that picture..

I am Toni, yes I have been wearing wigs for long long time since a child, I found Milano and fell in love with the wigs, and started working for them just recently, I was a cheerleader for them because I truly love the wigs regardless if I work there or not. I'm in the ad yes because this is real life and it's my story. I would never recommend something I don't believe in, As far as the "T" that's been my profile name for years on my profile has nothing to do w anything.
It's just advice of what I like to help others, I've been all over and spent a lot of money, and found something that works for me.

Yes, I'm not saying it's not me, I had a tough time with alopecia no support at home growing really tough, I'm living finally as whom I'm am, and not to be ashamed, I want to help others, and yes I work with Gam as well just recently too, to raise awareness and in hope to find a cure.

Yes! me never said it wasn't, T was my name for long time on AW.
