Hi my name is Ana, Im 22 years old. Im a college student. I just want to talk to some one who knows what im going through. Ive been losing my hair ever scene i was about 18. I just feel lost and dont know what to do. For a long time i have been ignoring my hair loss hoping that one day i will wake up and have my old hair back. I need support and advice from people who are going through this. This problem is getting harder and harder every day to cover. I just think im not strong enough to deal with all this. Im here to give support too, and im here to listen to any ones stories, Im here as a friend to anyone who needs one, just know that you are not alone.
Google search: "Santa Ana Wig Salons/Shops" (or use the next biggest city), and a list should pop up. Go to each site online, or call, and get info on the experience of the owners. Also, go to www.naaf.org and find your local alopecia support group to ask women for good shops. I use two shops in my Sacramento area, and one has nicer owners than the other. You should be able to get a 10% alopecia discount at good salons.
Hey girlfriend your beautiful despite the fact that you have this thing called "Alopecia" dont let that stop you! You can order your Lace wigs from aflawlessyou.com. I have ten and no one knows I even wear a wig. Check it out! Good Luck!!!
i do not understand what it is bad about not having hair? that we do not fit to the girly-woman prototype that they magazines are promoting?
I studied and worked for years in the fashion industry, and i believe it is all fake..important it is to love yr self however you look like...if you have an attitude then every one gives you a lot of positive attention and respect..
I become famous in athens for my unique look, i got much more interesting boyfriends since I lost my hair, and my friends love me for the way I am and I look! I do not waste any time on fixing my hair or shaving my body hair...so really what it is not good about not having hair????
I enjoy it...it is a unique experience and it is teaching me, never to take in life anything for granted...enjoy what you have...health and beauty!
Hello Anna! I buy the wigs we have in Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk city, shop-studio ESWig.

Hello and welcome, Ana!
I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" (It just won two national awards!) You can find out more on my page -- and it's available on Amazon.com, and on this site under "Bookshelf." It might make you feel better -- and it's a good read! Let me know if there's anything else I can do!
