Hi,
I am trying to decide on what type of wig to make a larger investment in. I have a few synthetics renee of paris and henry margu and I recently purchased an inexpensive (124) hh Yaffa bob. I think I have determined that I prefer HH for the feel and look of it and do not mind spending an hour once a week to wash and style. My main concern is comfort and coolness in the humid summer months. I am trying to decide between a better yaffa the hair is good on the one I have but the cap is not the best no mono. I am also looking at Iwig and some other custome lace vendors. I appreciate any advice or opinions. This will be my first bald summer.

Thanks,

Joanne

I just got a wig from celebritywigs.com too! When I ordered european hair wasn't an option they carried, so I just went with the cheap Indian hair but it still looks GREAT. You could pay quadruple what one of their wigs cost and not even come close to the quality. Really. I'm wearing it in my profile picture. My boyfriend was really amazed at it- according to him it looks like "your god-given hair"
Eva, on celebritywigs.com which vendor did you order from? It looks like that is a group of vendors? Your wig looks great!

Thanks

Joanne
Sorry I typed the link wrong! The site I ordered from is celebritystylewigs.com
I thought that might be the one. Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you order stock or custom? Are the lace wigs hard to work with?
I understand your dilemma. My daughter has a couple of wigs from iwig. She loves them. They are very comfortable and the density is just right for her. The cap makes a big difference. It looks natural, even close up, you can't tell. The ladies at wigsupport love Yaffa. One of them told me that Yaffa has more hair - perhaps more suitable for an adult. I am going to order a lace wig from the site that Karen recommended later this year. My daughter is not ready for glue/tape yet. It is very frustrating not being able to feel and try the wig before buying. It is a big investment. I am still waiting for a very expensive one ordered from a local wig maker. I had to return it twice. It tangled so badly.
Hopefully with research, you won't make the same mistake like I did.
You don't use tape or glue with the iwig? I think I will have to contact them, the web site does not give alot of detailed information, unless I am missing something?

After you know your price range and the type and quality of hair you want, the next BIG THING is to ask people everything you can possibly think of about customer service. It's very important and is not researched enough in my view.

Wig buyers are CONSUMERS and for far too long have felt like victims of the sellers.

Wig buyers should always 1) leave their credit card at home or n the car when researching wigs and 2) head for the door immediately if there is anything at all about the process, how you are treated or what the seller says to you when in their shop.

As for online purchase or over the phone. I know luxury wig sellers who will send out wigs on approval. In my opinion it shows respect for the needs of the buyer and a willingness to establish a mutual relationship of trust.

The competition for luxury wigs is heating up. All things being equal, only give your business to the ones who are 100% respectful of you and your money.

Hi Myem,

Would love to have your input at this discussion. about my survey for buying wigs.

The survey is in stage I: to ask people here on AW to submit the issues and questions they think wig buyers should be asking themselves and asking the sellers in regard to their purchases before and during a wig purchase.

Thanks for your valuable experiences,
Thea
I was looking at those and would love to know what your daughter thinks of it when it arrives.

Thanks
Joanne
Karen,
Did you need to have your friend cut/style the wig at this site for your daughter? Most wigs come with too much hair for my daughter. I was looking at the no tape lace wig also. I hope that the cap is comfortable. Please keep us posted. It will be great for sleepover or short field trips.
Thanks,
Myem
