Hi Dallas

I think it may be better for you to do some more investigations around your own needs with a wig. I'm not sure if the Yaffa wig will suit your needs or not.

Work out what you want from a wig and then find a wig that ticks the most boxes.

These are the things that I feel are important for those with long term extensive hairloss to understand about wigs and the different options available.

Always check the hair in the hairpiece you are looking at. If it is processed in anyway then it should be a reasonably priced option, be careful around the explanations wig companies/sellers give around this as there are many different names for this type of hair...some of the advertising can be blatantly misleading. If it is 100% virgin Human hair it will be very good hair, but often expensive (whatever ethnic requirement you may have - check that your hair isn't processed), as this will impact on the longevity of your wig and the look of your wig long term.

Do you require security? If you do what attachment method do you want to use. Investigate what the different security options offer you, and what that will mean to your life. I'm not sure what Yaffa wigs offer, but possibly net and lace construction.

Find out how you have to care for your hair...with some wig options water can cause major ramifications around the ability to care for your wig. Ask how you wash the wig and what can happen if the hair gets wet (depending on the cap construction, especially if it is handknotted there can be major issues with caring and maintaining your hair).

With regards to brands and companies. It's often like the wild wild west on the internet, please be thoughtful and careful with regards to your decisions.

good luck with your investigations.

Thanks ! I was hoping someone who has the brand would give input. Not all of us who suffer from Alopecia can afford the high dollar wigs you talk about. My budget will aloow for up to 4-5 hundred Not 4-5 Thousand.

Hi

I have heard good things and not so good things about Yaffa wigs, but like everything do your homework around this as opinions on all wigs differ from person to person.

Good luck with everything.

nDallas, personally had never heard of this brand until I read your post. I just ordered Gala by Gabor on Ebay and it was $49. I get compliments all the time and I am very pleased with it. I don't have the funds to spend hundreds of $ on wigs either.

I too have heard some say they are really good and some say the hair is a tangled mess after only a few months. Are there different levels of yaffa wigs? Some with better hair and more expensive maybe?

Yes, I think that there are different types of hair used in Yaffa wigs. If you get to know the types of hair, then that info is useful for many manufacturers.

I have bought the older Yaffa Indian hair wigs-because I happen to like wavy hair. But caps are not very good on top-they no longer make current Indian hair wigs so the caps are older styles. But I love the hair. It has highlighted well and never tangles if I use deep conditioner from time to time.

Then there are wigs made with hair that is Chinese/Asian-that hair will be somewhat heavier but very good for straight styles.

Then there is Asian hair that has been processed to look European hair. that usually means some or all of the cuticle has been removed-but then it should not tangle. Sorry I can't give any more personal experience-hope you hear from others.
Of course they also make wigs with EHH and I have heard very good things about them but they are expensive.

also-there is a vendor of Yaffa wigs that many women on wigsupport have purchased from Samantha Palifax-her website is ]
