Hey guys! I am new here! I have had AA since I was 6 years old (I am now 24). I have never known anyone with Alopecia!

I've had various forms since age 6 (38 years now). I had a small spot for two years then it all fell out. I've worn wigs since I was 8 years old. It's a part of me that I don't think about or worry about...I've adjusted. It has strengthened me, made me a better person, challenged me, and made me look at my priorities.

I grew up with alopedia areata and well. As far as I can remember i was about 3 years old when my parents noticed the first spot. I am 51 now and about 4 years ago I noticed my hair was thinning, it's like one day i woke up bald. I am still trying to handle it. I take it one day at a time.

Alopecia since i was a kid (over 30 years now)...haven't celebrated any anniversary's per se (interesting idea), but decided 15 years ago not to be the victim but to be the role model instead. I kind of hope that's what this particular group is all about - helping others to see that there's more to life than this crazy fashion statement that's been thrust upon us all. who's with me?

I have had alopecia since I was 12, and I'll be 30 in January. Now, I have AU. I've worn wigs since 1998 and made the decision last fall to get my eyebrows done. I've been able to go without wigs off and on, but I've not been able to go without for almost four years now.
