I started losing my hair about 2 years ago. Most of the hair on my body disappeared by this past November. I noticed about 6 weeks ago that I have no nose hair. This wouldn't be a big deal other then I have been a virus magnet this past month. Nose hair is the first line of defence for viruses. It doesn't help that I work in a hospital.

Any ideas? Would love to grow these back!

thanks!

I lost mine, too. I have terrible allergies, so this was traumatic! My nose would literally swell closed if I passed a mower on the side of the road. It did seem to get better with time, that's my hope for you! That your body will get used to not having it and will start compensating. I have started to get some hair back on my head, but no nose hair, I am really praying for my eyelashes since my eyes have been very sensitive since I got Alopecia. I have had two bad cases of pink eye in three years, and hadn't had that since I was a kid. Oh, the joys of being bald...good luck!

Oh yes the joys!!! Thank you for your thoughts:)

I have universalis - I started using nose spray - Fluctinose - prescription and since doing so for a year now I have had nose hair and eyelashes... my doc thinks I'm crazy but its worth a try I only use it once a week now too and still have both :)

Thanks for this suggestion Diana. I'm going to check it out with my doc.

Hello, Michelle! I have universalis too. I lost all my hair four years ago, including nose hair, but last year it(my nose hair)started growing, with no treatment( I only have a gluten free diet, because I have a strong intolerance to gluten). Now I recovered almost all my nose hair, but the rest of my body is still hairless.I also have rhinitis and lots of skin problems.

Thank you for your kind words to all the women with AU.

Nose hair is definitely the one we all seem to miss most. I have a very bad cold right now and I wish I could have that barrier between my sinuses and ... my computer when I bend down ;). I also had to see my ophtalmologist because of my crying eyes.

Fluctinose must be the name of the medicine, could you give me the name of the molecule please Diana to see if by any chance I could find over here (France). Thanks.

You're too right BekindtoEarth it's nice to know we aren't alone !

But we must admit it's nice not to have some other hairs, isn't it ?

In my 33 years of lifetime I have never had nose hair (on the head yes from time to time). Allergies are awful, for me from blooming March till September. Also stupid with not having eyelashes. Try to use little pills against it. But where ever I see a toilet, I try to "flood" my nose at the sink. Just for little cleaning.
