Hey everyone,
I was diagnosed in October with AU. About a month ago my hair started coming back a little on my arms and very few patches on my legs and on my head. I'm wondering if this happened to anyone else. Did it last?

What are you being treated? Alopeci is unpredictable, it can last for recovery, and relapse can be ...

all a matter of faith, perhaps ... the more you believe in healing, the better things are going ...

I was diagnosed with "aggressive AA" in July '11, which essentially progressed to AU by end of AUG. I started to see the fine white growth on my head by Sept, but for me, it did not last.

I would certainly feel "cautiously optimistic" with any hair growth. Have you used any treatment? I wish the best for you! I hope it continues to come in. Keep us posted!

It did happen to me when I first got AU 17 years ago but I lost it pretty quickly and it never returned. I'm sure though that every case is different.

My case is similiar to Kathyrn's. All fell out then some white peach fuzz showed up on my scalp. Some of it then turned into a dark small patch in the front. It fell out within a week. My eyebrows feel out in the beginning, came back and 2 weeks later fell out again. Since Oct. 2011 totally bald body. Everyone's different so hopefully yours is all coming back!! Good luck.

I think acceptance is key.  Whatever is happening right now is what is happening.  You can't know, and to get your hopes up can be worse than taking it day by day. Accepting your bald beautiful self is essential, no matter what happens.  You are perfect as-is.  The more you present with no apologies, the world will respond in kind.  I spent 25 years on a roller coaster, but now I am totally bald and couldn't be happier.  If someone promised a magic pill tomorrow I don't even think I'd take it.  Let your strength build and surround yourself with people who support you. Bless you and I hope you get all the love you deserve through this!

Hi! I'm new to Alopecia World. I've had AU for three years and at first my hair grew back white. It was about 1/2 a head of hair and diffuse growth. Now, dark hair is filling in but it is growing in patches. I went to an integrative doctor and each time I'm treated for another autoimmune issue (I have many!) my hair grows. My eyebrows and lashes are back. We'll see. For me, AU was an alarm for me to deal with my overall health issues. I was medicating symptoms and not looking at the big picture.
