I have a client with FFA who is on Clobetasol, and her hair has not grown back, but the scarring has not progressed further. There was awhile before she was diagnosed that the front scar was receding rapidly. Her hair has thinned all over but she is 66 and that is normal for her age. The FFA is only about 1/2 inch at her forehead.

Hi Rosie, I have FFA and my derm prescribed dermovate. He told me to use it twice a day (morning and night) for 2/3 weeks as often as every 2/3 months - if I saw any redness to stop the inflammation. I have only used it for 7 days back in November when he first prescribed it to me because I don't have any redness/inflammation and I know it does not actually stop hair loss just helps the redness/inflammation if that is bothering you. I am in the process of getting other meds for my FFA. In the UK hydroxychloroquine sulphate and doxycycline are being given to some people with FFA. I have an appointment with a derm in February to try and get these meds. Good Luck x

Now I'm a bit confused ! chris for hair, you say it has stopped someones hair receding, but Debs, you say it is just for inflammation and doesn't stop hair loss?! My scalp is not itchy or inflamed, so really it would be no use unless it stopped the hair loss...

Rosie, I can't say for sure it is the Clobestasol that stopped the progression of my clients FFA, probably no one can. It would seem to me however that if the inflammation is controlled it may stop progression.

Hello Rosie I am new here but I've tied Dermovat becauise I have poriasis on top af everything but is acually just on the scalp. But when the hair fall off then the eczema disappear. But I usid it very rarely now days.I hope that mine English is okay.
