Allergies to gold linked to LPP? Have any of you been tested for this allergy?

I was patch tested recently and just got the results back. It turns out I am allergic to gold! My derm says that she has seen a link between gold allergies and LPP. She asked if I had oral problems with LPP and if I had gold dental work. I do have both. She asked when I got the gold crown. It turns out that it was about the time I had my first flare with LPP although I didn't know that is what I had at the time. She strongly urged me to have the gold crown removed.

I was tested by Yale university professor for a whole slew of things and all the metals included. Even though I get a reaction from silver, I'm not allergic. He tested me for all metals. I am only allergic to neomycin and something else tho I can even remember what it is. I had it done right b4 my biopsy for FFA in Jan 2015.

I am going to take the results and all my questions with me when I have an appointment with an immunologist at National Jewish Health later this month.  It will be interesting to get their take on the test and results.  I also will run this all by my dentist.
