Donna,
Thank you for that. Very interesting. I see someone else was asking about increased redness from the injections, too. I was never looking as closely as I am now, since April when I learned of FFA, however I'm fairly certain I knew my hairline pretty well. I looked back at the date on some medicine that my doctor prescribed when we didn't know what the redness at my hairline was from. It was very early 2014 so I believe I've had this since 2012 or 2013 because I know it was red for a while before I sought help. There was always just one half-inch strip that was red -- but no hair loss that I noticed. I think I did lose hair during that period, when I was blissfully unaware, but it was very gradual and not a lot. But after the injections began, I noticed greater, faster hair loss and the redness spread. I KNOW it's been faster hair loss because now my hair line is more jagged. So that's when the derm told me let's try the Clobetesol and plaquenil. I started the Clobetesol and again, wondered if it was actually causing more redness and hair loss. It's so hard to know for sure, but, Donna, exactly what you describe is what I was wondering about. It seems that it calms it down, but then my head is angered a day or two later and NEEDS the Clobetesol, kind of (if that makes sense). But because this is such a mystery I'm hesitant still both to treat and not to treat. Thank you for the information about what these drugs can do -- cause problems. Better to be aware.
