hello,

about 2 weeks after I received injections with cortecosteroides (Kenakort) in my shoulderjoints,I founs out that I was losing hair.

I think that those hormoon injections were "the trigger"to start FFA.

Normally it is used to stop the infections of FFa,but I think it worked just the other way around.

In Holland 7 people  have mentioned the same.

is there anyone in Alopecia World who has experienced the same?

Hi jeanne
I have had FFA for about 7 years. Only in the last 12months I have had shoulder joint inflammation.
I have never had cortisone injections as this would be my last resort. I take Allegron to stop the pain when needed.
I must admit once reading your post I never really thought it could be linked to ffa. It now has got me wondering.
I would be interested to see how many other people have shoulder joint issues and ffa together.

Wishing you all the best
Kaz

hello Kaz,

I have to make something clear: I received the cortisone injections because I had a "frozen shoulder".

I did't get shoulder complaints because of FFA or because of the injections.

I think my FFA started because I received cortisone injections.
