Recommendations from NJ members

If there are members from NJ I would appreciate any feedback on Doctors that you've seen for FFA. Any that you recommend or those that you wouldn't. I really like the dermatologist I saw this week but just want to be sure I go to the right place for the best course of treatment. I'm in North Jersey , Morristown area. 

Also any hair stylists that can help me figure out a new part and bangs? I've been going to a 'budget' type of salon and I'm not sure how the stylist will do camouflaging my changing hairline.

Hey Heather, I have been treated by Dr Ellen dabela in parsippany, NJ. The treatments we have done so far have not stopped my hair loss. Have done clobatasol, oral antibiotics, oral steroid, steroid scalp injections. Starting on an anti-inflammatory cream. Might do plaquenil. I am seeing Dr. Lindsey Bordone in Manhattan, who supposedly specializes in hair issues, in Feb and will report back.

Thank you, let me know how it goes in NYC. I'm in Morristown so close to Parsippany. I'll continue with my dermatologist in Florham Park for now. I go back in three weeks for more steroid injections. Now that I'm a little more educated on FFA I have a lot more questions for her.

I see Dr. Lauren Wiznia in Manhattan.  She has been incredible and is very knowledgeable about FFA.  I was diagnosed in October and have already seen great results.  I am on 20mg of Accutane, tacrolimus, clobetasol, and romaine. The papules on my face are almost gone and I have lots of new hair growth.

Hey Clazsis,

Do you use oral or topical tacrolimus? Maybe I will ask about this med bec I have used clobatasol and Rogaine with little improvement. Thanks. --Coleen
