Hey everyone,
I'm new to this website and new to the Alopecia world. My daughter was born seven months ago and when I started losing hair, I didn't think anything of it. Until I realized I was losing chunks and I had bald spots around my scalp. Then I noticed I had lost most of the hair on the rest of my body. I was diagnosed with AU last month. I have some regrowth on my scalp now but I'm still losing quite a bit of hair everyday and I'm still finding new bald spots.
I'm looking forward to getting to know people who are going through and who have been through the same things

hi there, myself and my daughter are new to this site also, really great place, gives alot of information
really helpfull.

how are you?and where are you from?sorry i cant see :)

Hey there I am fairly new to the site also & was diagnosed with AU at the beginning of this yr. all of my hair has fallen out since it began in nov 2009. it is a tough process but with support & love of your new baby im sure you will get through it! feel free to message me if you want to talk this site is great for other support resources also :)

alopecia is scary sometimes! i have friends who laughed their way through it....unlike me who hid under my pillow for months feeling sorry for myself. i didn't have support back then ( it was 1983)....there were no support groups....internet....etc.....i went through ugly wigs, comments behind my back.....it just took the "oomph" out of me.
now....although the fear, pain, greiving, etc.....may still be as real, at least we have access to great help, great "internet friends", great hair alternatives.....i may never be one to whip off my wig and laugh.....but to each his own. i encourage you to do what YOU are comfortable with doing, but do reach out to this great group for great advice. paula

Hi there and welcome to this wonderful site!!!! I just joined in Dec. I was just diagnosed 6 months ago so am still at the stage of coming to terms with having no hair. You don't realise how much you take your hair for granted until you lose it all. I think I was more freaked out with losing my eyebrows and eyelashes :( But hey-ho onwards and upwards.... Hope all is grOOvy with you shO :)
