I made the decision to shave and did it 9 days ago! Yes, undoubtedly, one of the scariest days of my life. But, from a quote I read not long ago, going bald is much harder than being bald. So true! Though I'm not ready to be bald in public ( I wear a Peggy Knight wig), I'm not as "wigged" out as I thought I'd be when looking at that strange person in the mirror.

My question to all you wonderful alopecians out there...how to care for a bald scalp? How do you keep it smooth? Do you use a "Bic"? Do you need to treat it with product occasionally? I'm lost! I guess I should have done more research prior to shaving.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

I also shaved mine after losing so much. I have worn hats or wigs since. I love being home where I can be bald! I have an eleven year old who would be mortified if I went bald in public. For him, I choose to wear the same wig so his friends won't notice. He has told some of his close friends. Anyway, it was much worse losing handfulls of hair than being bald. I then proceeded to wipe stubble off my head for the next month or so until I was completely bald everywhere! I never had to shaveanything again and am smooth! I do use a lot of lotion because. I get dry easy. I think the wigs help dry my scalp. I also take omega 3+D oil. Good luck! I'm. So sorry you're going through this! Its been just over a year for me.
