Hi, I cut what was left of my hair off this morning. Then shaved it with a electric razor. I cannot tell you how much better I feel. I have my life back and I am in control. If you are having feelings of getting rid of it really think about how much better you'll feel.

I just found out I have alopecia. I kind of thought aliens were landing on my head and making crop circles! I wanted to whine a bit, but a dear friend of mine is undergoing chemo for breast cancer. Last week her hair started to all out, so her husband shaved her head on Christmas Day! I know she feels better for having taken action. My hair loss is still small enough to cover with some slight alteration to my usual style (like parting it on the other side to avoid the major divots!). I am aware I cannot guess how far this whole thing will go, so I'm just sitting back and letting life go on for now. At age 55, I am wise enough to know there are far worse things than losing your hair. And since I am not interested in losing my mind, I think I'll keep my sense of humor. Good for you, Eileen. I applaud your courage!
Thank you and I yours also for coming to this site.

This is right place to learn and overcome.
