Kids with alopecia

Hi all 

My daughter (aged 8) has recently been diagnosed with alopecia, and has lost almost all her hair very quickly. It's been tough and she's been a bit up and down about it, but in general she's been very brave and a real inspiration to me. She'd love to meet other kids who are going through the same as her. Can anybody help? We are in Wellington.

Hi mummy Wendy, just wondering if you have had any luck finding other kids in Wellington? We are in chch and I know when my daughter who has Alopecia met others who had Alopecia it helped a lot with her confidence! Regards Kelly

Thanks for the message. Yes, we have found a few other kids now, and there are a group of us mums hoping to set up an "alopecia friendship club" (for want of a better description!) where the kids can all meet up and have a bit of fun (bowling etc) on a regular basis. The aim is to help with their confidence etc. Glad to hear your daughter has met others and it's helped.
