I have just returned from a month overseas visiting thailand vietnam for two weeks and hong kong I wore my wig for the first two days then decided it was too hot so wore nothing and felt great. My hair has started to grow back I am so excited it is growing in quite thick on the top the back is still very thin and some bald patches so i have my fingers crossed . It has been nearly five months since it fell out quite drasticaly, in two weeks I was wearing a wig so will keep you posted

Hi there, have just been diagaonsed with AA at this stage I am able to keep it covered with the rest of my hair but the specialist is still saying that it will only be time. Great to find this site and to get to know others. the support will be great throughout my journey, Wendy

Hey, great web site. Even though I am one of the many who have left NZ for Oz, I will always be a Kiwi! I am yet to meet anyone else with Alopecia, but being able to come here and see others with the same thing is very encouraging. Thanks everyone!!!

How wonderful to see a NZ group. I have always felt that support groups really help to be able to met others with the same condition. I have only had alopecia for nearly three months. I lost 80% of my hair in two weeks still struggling to come to terms with it. I am 60 and I haven't seen many my age on his site. I have been fortunate to meet someone from this group here in Christchurch and have spoken to cheryl by phone. Both these ladies were so supportive. I am finding wearing a wig difficult and I am considering buying a real hair wig. My husband and I are off to Thailand Vietnam and Hong Kong for a month on the 26 Sept so I have been wearing scarves quite a bit getting used to them now as I feel it will be too hot over there to wear a wig. I am looking forward to finding some nice hear wear in Vietnam .
