My 9 year old daughter developed Alopecia Areata about 18 months ago. In the last few months it's progressed to Totalis.
In the summer months when we are swimming she wears a swim cap that has hair attached. She will not wear a swim cap without the attached hair.
Sometimes this prompts questions from other kids. My daughter is just not at the point of being able to answer them without getting upset.
Does anyone have any quick responses that don't go into explaining what Alopecia is? I don't want to supply mean answers just looking to give her a few responses she could reply with. One I was thinking about is:
"I don't want to get my head sunburned."
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Tish
