So my daughter is losing her hair for the second time since 2010. She lost her full head of hair last year and now is almost 60% I would say. I got her a new Derm I found on a wellness pharmacy's site. Her previous derm was booked til april. I feel my duaghter needed sooner attention.
So the derm recommended we do another iron test since she has a history of anemia. Today I got a call back saying that she is low on her iron again. She recommended Ferrofood and it has many other ingredients in it other than iron.
I find this intersting because her General physician always recommended regular iron pills from wherever i usually got em at HEB. She didnt necessarily this is the answer for her alopecia and I havent actually spoke to the derm about these pill, it was an assistant. So I cant wait to see how these work for my daughter. Does anyone here have any experience with Ferrofood?

No experience with Ferrofood, but my son's tests revealed low iron as well. In fact, other trace minerals were low. We need these minerals for hair growth definitely. There are so many natural ways to build iron levels than with pills. He eats meats and he drinks his chocolate made with raw cacao. The pills are constipating and there is no guarantee as to the amount of absorption.

That is a good idea. I have some raw cocoa at home. What other ways do you try. I know this is different from regular iron pills it has other ingredients. But this is only day 2. I never had anyone tell me if other minerals were low. I wish I knew how to find out. Has this helped to bring his iron levels back up? Thanks for the reply.
It totally has. Since his last blood work, no evidence of low iron was indicated. The next time she has blood drawn, just go over all the lines with the doctor to be sure you understand the ranges and where she fits in.
It's funny how my husband just commented this morning on how great my son's skin is compared to when he was younger (he's four now). My daughter is experiencing a lot of eczema issues, but nothing as severe as Deryck. I think we are doing something right. He used to also have a lot of digestive issues, but now he's eating me out of house and home (but, I'm not complaining). I love when my kids eat! They sometimes ask for asparagus and broccoli!!
We do raw milk, eggs, chicken, turkey, some red meat...no pork or shellfish. I want to keep pushing the veges though. They don't do enough. If your daughter will do smoothies, you can do so much with that. My kids still look at me like I'm trying to trick them (which I am). Do as many superfoods as you can...get them into that smoothie if she'll have it. I think I could do wonders if I can get them there. I once had a doctor who was examining me tell me that he thinks my son's autoimmune issue could be related to his adrenals. I totally believe that (brings us back to the anxiety thing again).
Thanks for the reply. Yes my daughter loves smoothies. I continue to find more ways to feed them healthy. just gotta stay on track. I also have my daughter see a counselor. How is your sons hair doing now, also do you use the steroids?
