Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)
Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.
If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Hi All! So pleased to join your group today. I am from Seattle area in the US but had the wonderful opportunity to visit your group this early June! You are an amazing and welcoming group of women and I hope to visit again soon!
Thanks Adara, appreciate the referral!
Hey everyone! Even though I watched the movie Good hair and got a glimpse of how black women do their hair, I didn't know it was this complicated:

I'm amazed and shocked at the same time!!!! (Btw way the movie is excellent and hilarious if you want to check it out!)
Awesome! Thanks Adara! Looking forward to meeting ya :)
Hi all,
I was so pleased to find this group! I am a Toronto-transplant to Vancouver who has lived with alopecia for the last decade - a very long, often frustrating and upsetting experience. I look forward to meeting up at your next get-together.
Sandra, my hair stylist Shannon O'Brien recently reshaped my wig (I'm a 30-year-old female) and did an excellent job. She rents a chair at Beaute Salon on Main St.: me@shannonkyla.com.
Best of luck,
Adara
Wow, thanks for the quick response Tanya, it is greatly appreciated.
Yah, we are in kinda of a rush hoping to get in within the next 9 days.
Cheers,
Sandra
Hi Sandra!
Cat (and I, occasionally) go to Beth @ Textura, but she is incredibly busy right now... Suki's Salon does amazing work. They are known to be expensive, but last time I checked it wasn't as expensive as I recalled. It's worth calling them to find out! Ask for a stylist experienced with wigs and they will accommodate I'm sure.
I think Dana and JLo know a good stylist too.
cheers!
Tanya
Hi Ladies,
Would anyone know of a great Stylist in Vancouver with wig cutting experience for a tween?
My usual Stylist that cuts my Clients Freedom Wigs is not available this month, and I would love another suggestion/referral.
Thanks in advance!
Sandra
Thank you Tanya and all! Sat eve and weekend was lots of fun. Super sweet how hospitality you all were! Plus delight to meet you all and nice how warm, easy going group is.
:-) ~ Cheers and Hugs from Seattle
Dear All, last meetup was so much fun! It was great to catch up with you, to meet Lea and Shari who came all the way from the US, to try on lots of beautiful wigs by Shari, and to see Dana's hair grow back!!!
