Vancouver Alopecia Areata Support Group

Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)

Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.

If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Dear All,

We had so much fun last night - thank you for coming! And thank you Chris for hosting!

I know some of you wanted to come but couldn't make it to last night's meetup. I hope to see you soon :)

We had two new members joining us, Leif and Thomas! Was great getting some male perspectives! Good times swapping stories and swapping wigs, haha.

Talk soon,
Tanya

It was great, as usual. Thanks to Mo and Bill again for educating us and sharing your home. The cake was fabulous, and I may be dreaming about it for weeks. Good to see everyone again, and share in good conversation, support, and feeling of being accepted. Have a good month. I look forward to seeing everyone next time.

PS: Thanks to Jana for putting me up on her couch so I didn't have to drive all the way home. It was quite comfortable.

Dear all, our meetup was incredible last night! THANK YOU Mo (and Bill!) for hosting us in your awesome home!

Mo ordered a gluten-free lemon coconut cake from Lemonade and it was out of this world! Mo's husband Bill showed us how to make fermented foods, including kefir, kombucha, and sauerkrout. We each got to taste some kombucha (yum) and fermented carrots & turnips (also yum and quickly disappeared off the table!) The presentation was completed with an info sheet handout, and a prize draw for a bottle of kombucha! Needless to say Erin will be having a super healthy gut flora / digestive system in the coming weeks! ;)

And thank you to everyone for coming out and sharing your stories, laughs, tears, inspiration, everything. I'm constantly amazed by how fantastic this group is!

big hugs xoxo
Tanya
