When I was at the NAAF conference last year one of the father's asked about the connection between vaccines and alopecia. As we know, vaccines inject a person with a small bit of the disease so that the immune system develops the ability to fight the disease if it comes along...and in order to do that our immune is sent into to action. It's this "activation" that also may kick alopecia into action. The panel of Dr's did admit that this was a possibility. Again, more research is needed. As I have said before, they now have a large sample of people with alopecia and they are going to compare them to a "non alopeian" sample group and see what kind of correclations, interesting similarities show up.
If any of you are reading the Facebook postings on GAMKids . .. There have been numerous postings by parents with AA kids, who put the kids on gluten-free diets with incredible success. Now interestingly, some of these same kids then also had dramatic loss immediately after vaccination boosters . . Controversial and important stuff.
Thanks JLo! Everybody - to see JLo's post you can look at the Discussion Forum (above), the thread titled Alopecia Research.

This article is the reason I started on the Primal/Paleo diet. It also explains why corn should also be avoided:

Hello, it terms of the gluten/wheat connection I just added a comment to the research article that Tanya posted for me a while ago. It seems that there is a connection between the two and the doctors said that there is no direct link but that they have seen hair growth in some patients who went on gluten free diets.
Hello, it was great to see you all, such good conversations and it's always good to laugh. Looking forward to Aug!

I've bought from them before and find their lace too prickly and wouldn't buy again. This is an interesting idea though!
