I have my freedom wig 17 months now about 3 months ago i noticed that it was loosing hair. This has increased alot in the last few months. So m uch so that i think i will soon have a bald spot along my parting- which is not good. I am concerned about this loss as i had thought not considered this would occur.
Has anyone any advice on what to do?

As time goes on, there will be daily wear and tear to your hairpiece just like wearing the same garment all day, every day. If you frequently sleep in the prosthesis, expect the weight of your head rubbing the hair against the pillow to cause hair breakage. Rubbing your head against a car headrest or playing with the same piece of hair in your fingers will also cause hair breakage.

This was taken off the Freedom web page. You should have been informed of this when you had your consult with your rep. I know we were told of this several times through the ordering/styling process for our daughter. It can be repaired, but it will have to be sent back to Freedom in NZ for them to do so. Unsure of the cost for that. Contact your original rep for more advice. My daughter has had the same problem, but we are in the middle of growing her hair and she actually has out grown her piece, so for us if her hair falls out again we will need to order a new wig.

Hope that was of some help =)

Hi there. Nicole had the exact same problem. Hers was caused by her pushing down on the top of her prosthesis when she felt as though the suction was breaking, this happened when she laughed alot =). As Cheryl has said you really need to be very careful and mindful that you aren't playing or rubbing your hair piece on anything. We had to send Nicole's back for a repair which caused a huge amount of stress and was a cost of about $400. I know this is a real concern, especially when it is your only hair piece. Take care.
