I am on my third Freedom piece and I absolutely love them! The only thing I can't get through to hairdressers is how to cut the 'wispies'  especially the ones in front.  Any tips?  I tried looking through the internet for different pictures but I keep getting the same ones which are not much help.  Any suggestions are welcome :) Thanks!

Hi Sarah

This is quite subjective.  I can give you the specifications for my daughters dark hair (the first picture).  I always get her extra light as she is quite petite and my personal belief is too much hair is not a great look.  I would also suggest extra light implant with very dark hair (like in that piccie) as the difference between blonde and dark hair (the diameter of the hair shaft) is a little different.  As dark hair has more melanocyte (the bit that colours hair) it slightly puffs the hair shaft making it just a little thicker.  So, even though you may have the same amount of hair in your Freedom hair as a blonde piece, it will look slightly different. Curl preference also makes a difference to the look of a Freedom wig (of course), but it can be confusing.  I would really suggest a very in depth conversation with your IA. Take along piccies and if they are of people wearing freedom wigs, ask the IA to find the specifications so you can achieve something similar.

I did a little styling on my daughters 16 inch dark hair(please note this length hair is only available in dark colours) a couple of days ago and you can see what curl does to the look.  I'll pop them below.  (Curl also makes the hairpiece look more dense...it isn't of course, curl give more volume).

This is Libby's hair after it was gently dried straight (it's natural curl preference is movement).

This is after we curled it.  I quite like the effect but I think people wouldn't think they were the same Freedom Wig...but they are.

Hope this helps Sarah.

Rosy

Makes sense Rosy!  I have a 12 " piece very similar in color (my favorite) and true dark colors seem puffy at times (even when I had hair!).   I was 99.9% going for the extra light and now you've confirmed my decision.  Thank you so much!
