I've been the girl who had combovers, the girl who wore berets, the girl who had a synthetic wig that didn't change styles even in a torrential downpour, the girl with beautiful auburn in the form of a vacuum seal prosthesis, and finally panuelo girl (Spanish for scarf)...Ah, alopecia...Now I blog about my thoughts, observations and experiences as a woman without hair. I've come a long way, baby! http://twitter.com/panuelogirl
HI, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
Hi! So out of all those head coverings, which did you like the best? (I am guessing NOT the comb-over!) I've had aa for about 30 years. Wanted to say hello and see how you are today!

Hola again girlie.. Mine fell out three-four years after all my hair on my head did.. Sooo weird how things work, huh!
I wish they would grow back.. But, now I have permanent eyebrows soooo if they grew back that might be an issue!! lol
I use to wear hats and scarfs and I found the more that I got use to not wearing something, the more I hated to cover my head. I may wear a bandanna if I am at the gym, helping someone move, painting a house... or doing something that makes me sweat more than usual. I find going out without something on my head took a bit of getting use to at first, but the more I did it, the more natural it became for me.
Definately!! Im gunna look at the places you told me right now! yeah the silk does move around alot ive never tried any different! but i will now! i let you know if i find any i like!
thanks for the comment!
I knew about the NAAF for many yrs. Ive been close to go over for the conference for many years now. But this year I did and I dont regret it! Im going to go every year now. It was amazing! And they thought it was so cool that a guy from Sweden was there. I loved to meet people from this site in real life.
It was great to meet you too. I wish I lived in Denver so I could be closer to my fellow alopecians like you and Marti! keep in touch. I don't check here very much so if you ever really need to contact me email me at hcinocco@gmail.com. or facebook or myspace ya know one of those.
See you soon!
thanks for the comment...I hope that someone out there knows about chlorine and alopecia! I dont want to make mine worse...but at this point i really dont know what will make it better either...lol
Wow, I agree with you. If she made the statement about the hair growing back, was her mind truly on what this woman was saying. She just has her breast removed and Oprah makes a comment about the hair???
hello!! yes u found me :-) ....and im crazy too!! well thank u a lot for your comments,...it always means a lot when i hear that someone enjoyed the show :-) i hope to keep talking and hope u are well! thanks again for the hello
hi there thanks for your comments i know i have to be strong but its really hard some days im better than others. My friends have been great but i dont think they really understand how i feel so im hoping by talking to other people with alopecia i will be able to come to terms with it hope to talk to you again soon and thanks
hey panuelo, whats up. My daughter has AU. All of her hair is gone including eyelashes and eyebrows. She's 7 so you could understand how hard it is for her. The starring, the pointing and the name calling. I try to remind her every day how beautiful she is. So nice to find people like her .Thought i was on my own. Especially down here in Nassau.
