Hi Claire, I am one of the family members of a child with alopecia. I am the cousin of Hayden. Hayden is 3 yr old lil boy. Actually Haydens mom, Monique is my cousin. So I guess that makes Hayden my 2nd cousin..well it doesn't really matter because I love that lil' boy to pieces..along with his 2 yr old sister Hayley.
We as a family just found out within the past 8-10 months that Hayden has Alopecia. So we are in the beginning stages of learning about the disease and the treatments and all the good stuff that goes along with it. Hayden is a great child and I may be being partial, but I think he is the cutest kid in the world..hahaha
Well, you have to admit he is pretty cute..hahaha..
Anyway, I decided to write you a note because you seem to be so confident and it seems as though family means alot to you...and boy does family mean everything to me...Did you treat your alopecia? Or were you one that learned to adjust and live with it? Whatever the decision was or is, you are a beautiful person, and congrats on the wedding!!!!!!!!
  • Sherry

I am looking forward to getting to know my new movie star friend..hahaha..thanks for the encouraging words, it means alot..
  • Ashley Sutton

hi!! thanks for the comment sorry it took soooo long for me to comment back !! yes it is a wig in the pic. i also wear synthetic wigs i like how they look and usually you can get a more "hip" synthetic one then human hair or at least thats what ive experienced.

  • Jill Newman

Hi im Jill. Im a new member and i have been having alot of issues lately dealing with my alopecia. i read that your married and i was wondering how your husbands or past boyfriends dealt with your alopecia and the wigs you wore. I'm wondering because i have a boyfriend and i have recently considered getting a wig for myself and what i am aftraid of is that he will look at me differently and not find me as attractive.

Hi Claire, I just wanted to ask you about your experience during your teenage years. My daugher is 12 and is AU for the last 6 month. Her hair started falling out about 1 year ago. Now she is very upbeat and rarely thinks about it. We immediately got her the best and most comfortable wigs and she always wears them. Currently, we are waiting on a vacuum wig. I don't know if, as she gets older, it will become more of a problem for her or once upbeat always upbeat? I'd appreciate any thoughts you have on this. Thanks Vicktoria
  • Vicktoria (Katya's mom)

Thanks for the answer. That makes me feel better. Yes this is a wig. In this picture she had help from her hairstylist so it's perfectly curled. She now also has bangs because of the eyebrows, it's easier for her. I have some pictures with bangs and fake eyebrows. Congrats on the wedding. Thanks so much for the uplifting comments. Vicktoria

    You are a lovely lady.
My wife is bald and beautiful with au.
I love the bald look on beautiful women.

    So you are from Manchester.
Are you a "City" fan, or a "United" fan?
Who is going to win the European Champions League final this year, Chelsea or Man U?
I am an Americam, but I must tell you, I have been to the west side of London, and I've seen Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge. And I am a Chelsea fan.
But may the best team win.
One thing for sure, it will be a British team that wins Europe this year!
  • Michelle Chapman

I look after meetings in the south west, but would love to get more going on all over.... I've helped NHS Choices with a profile, will check out your video!! I've been working with ITV for a show with Trinny & Susannah called the Great British Body - look out for it at the beginning of June - massive 'big up' for bald chicks!! Take care and keep in touch. Mxx

Hi Claire, I found out about Alopecia World thru you, I did a search in google and found your youtube video, I loved it. I decided to join and wanted to thank you.
  • Nini

    Hi Claire,

Well, yes I did watch your video and I really liked it. Your pictures are beautiful and you look great. I also have 3 kids, 2 daughters (11 & 9) and my little prince of 5 months.

I had never heard of Alopecia until it happened to me, and it was so fast, I went from having a very full and healthy hair to having nothing within months, but everything happens for a reason and I know God is with me in the middle of all this.

Thank you so much for sharing your story on that video, it has made a big difference, thank you.

    Keep in touch,
    Nini

Hi Claire...I´m from Argentina...I´m scared cause I can´t stop my hair falling out...my dermatologist affirmed me that is not alopecia but only sress but I´m worried. I want to ask what type of wig do you wear and if it´s comfortable. How do you deal with this issue?
