Hi Steve, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
I'm very glad to meet you, and wanted to take the time to welcome you to our community!!! I hope you enjoy your time here with us, and make lots of new friends!!!
Hi Steve, thanks for the post on my blog, I'm having a mixed emotions day today, but I know it was the right thing to do, my head feels great and I'm very confident. I'm trying to decide when I will "unveil" the "new me" at work.
Hi Steve, thank you so much for the support and your interest in our salon. While we love ourselves a fellow “alopecian,” unfortunately our salon is focused on women-only, so I have to maintain the anonymity and privacy of my clients. From time-to-time I do public speaking engagements, so maybe I can invite you to the next event like that? How far is Maywood from NYC or Philly for instance?
Sounds like you have au longer than myself. I have had it for 37 years. It doesnt look like you log on all that often, but would like to chat sometime.
hey steve.
i just looked at the comment you sent me on my group and thank you for your support i appreciate it. most of the time when i meet new people they tell me how brave i am but really the only reason i dont wear anything to cover my head is because hats and wigs are uncomfortable so i really dont consider myself courageous.
i have never been made fun of at school so that is not really my issue. its mostly going places because people just stare at me and little kids just give me dirty looks but i try to hide how uncomfortable i am with my personality.
i feel more comfortable going places when im with my best friend nikki so she pretty much goes with me everywhere. im just glad i can feel safe with some people you know?
im sure it was hard for you when you were a kid and its hard for everybody no matter what age they are so i just try to look at the bright side of things such as thank god i dont have cancer.
i think that is something everybody with alopecia should consider when they think they have it bad.
