Hi Lionel
Welcome to Alopecia world.
I have a 13 year old son with alopecia totalis. He plays a little guitar and would like to buy an electric one. He also loves photography. He just has a digital camera at the moment but is looking at getting a video camera.
How are you going at the moment?
Hey Lionel
Just had a look at your photos - they are awesome. I will show Jon in the morning (currently 12am here). You definately have talent there.
Hope you are well
Susan
Hey Lionel
I liked your photos. Can you speak English or do you use a translator?
Do you listen to heavy metal music. Have you heard of Slipknot, Bullet for my valentine,Avenged Sevenfold,Trivium, Disturbed or Metalica? There's a few more but these are my favourite bands at the moment.
Jon
You write well in English. I have heard of All Shall Perish but not actually listened to them.
What year are you in High School? Or have you finished?
I'm in my first year of High School. It is boring!
Jon
Yes, I think being open with alopecia definitely helps with the acceptance. You are very strong and courageous for being so young- that is terrifc. I was certainly not that open or strong when I was 17! I think you will find that the more open you are, the more that people respect/look up to you (at least that is what I have found in my case). Your pictures are great, too! I took guitar lessons when I was in high school, but I had to buy a little guitar because my hands are so small that I had a hard time getting all the chords right. Take care!
My, first year is going quite well actually. im around the smartest in my year and for my half yearly exams i got straight A's. When i lost most of my hair i decided to shave the rest off so when im older im going to think about buying a fibre optic wigg.
Jon.
Jon said he 'doesn't know' why he doesn't want a wig. Usual teenage response there!
How are you enjoying your wig? Does it make you feel like going out all the time?
Susan
I agree, there's definitely more to life than hair.
I'm counting myself to be really lucky right now, as I see to be in remission from my AA. I'm cautiously happy... we all know how unpredictable this condition is!
Thanks for adding me as a friend. Keep in touch

Thanks for the welcome.....i play in church mostly....I'm more of a rock blues type player with probably some U2 mixed in there. I think I have diffuse alopecia, gonna find out 4 sure on Monday. I was slowly thinning all over for about 5 years and about a month ago it started coming out all over pretty fast.....seemed like it kicked into overdrive.....definitely struggling with some depression with it, although this site has helped a bit.....I joined a group in Chicago and gonna meet some people on Tuesday.........what type of music do u play?
Hi Lionel, wow, superstitious by Adam Rafferty sounded great and that little boy 'Sungha Jung' is something else...thanks for turning me on to that......what kind of blues are you learning and what guys are you listening to?
cool about the private lesson and getten him to come out and play, way to go....there's a lot of SRV in my playing, I love BB King too as well as Gary Moore and Carlos Santana.......You have to listen to some Albert King too, he was probably the best blues guy, SRV stole a lot of his licks....here's a great album of his http://www.amazon.com/Very-Best-Albert-King/dp/B00000IMS7/ref=pd_si... sorry the link is so big
I do 2 sometimes its just i dont have eyebrows... and wigs look kind of fake without them and i was suppose to get a new one cause the back is way 2 short on this one... and it never came because they dont have enough cash for like 65 peoples which sucks....

Undiscovered
How are you?
Do you shave all of your hair and wear a full wig?
I am wearing a small piece at the moment, and trying to blend it into the hair I have left,I like the hairstyle you have!

I've just found your blogs and I have to say that you're very brave. I envy your strength as I just fell to pieces when my AA was at it's worst.
Take care

Winter is here. Mind you it's very unlikely we'll get snow in San Francisco.
Hope you are staying warm and cozy.
