About Me
When my 22 year old daughter developed AU I really struggled to find her the best hair pieces possible. I found that salons for the type of wigs she wanted were in the thousands of dollars. I decided to do my research for over a year for human hair factories in China. I decided to go to China and found the best factory and met with the owner. My goal is to bring this knowledge to those who want to wear a wig. My passion is to help others to live a full and confident life. I would be glad to help anyone find the best human hair wig for medical hair loss at a price point that hopefully can work. These are all custom made and all hand tied units. Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey. All my best Lisa

Hi again, I AGREE not enought hair dressers know how to customize faux hair! Luckily Collier Design in Seattle does just that and does it well.  I am learning how to use the soft velcro wig band (?) to keep my wigs in place.  So!  I have Jon Renau wigs and Renee of Pairs. My favorite one is the best Renau that has silicon in a U shape from hairline almost to crown and open wefting throughout the rest of it. It is airy and light.  Looks VERY natural though my hair is silver...no one has guessed it is faux. ALL 8 of my other wigs are uncomfortable purchased at various wig salons sold by owners who know little if anything about styling. I have gone on YouTube to learn how to customize. Again I worked in a wig salon for about two years 100 years ago (just kidding!) but I can't remember what we did other than have fun! (:  Collier Design in Seattle does a fantastic job. I have another appointment on March 5th to have my biohair cut and/or buzz cut. I did it on the left side below temporal area to side burns to see what it looks like..hmmm.....may try a shorter version of my now unwearable hair instead....only issue I have is I am SICK of finding long strands everywhere..but I digress. All-mom, besides the monofilament, open wefted synthetic wigs.....WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BE LOOKING FOR?  I will purchase another synthetic similar to my most comfortable one described above. However, I want them to retrofit it with more silicon around hairline if possible. Also, WHAT IS THE BEST WIG GRIP BAND to buy. I have a nice one, thin/soft that I bought from Collier but unless I wear it at hairline in front (scarring area with no hair at temples) and just above my ears which makes my ear stick out a touch it slips up and into the wig.  PLEASE ADVISE? Thank you again for being there with you wisdom and expertise! If I weren't 71 I'd go back into business simply customizing wigs!  Be well, Bon

Good Morning All-mom thank goodness, so appreciate you friending me!  Any advise you have re: faux hair is appreciated and head wraps, etc. I still have hair but profuse loss scarring around hair line.  Have rare form; Lichen Planoparlisis (thank you very much!)  (:  So I am a retired hairdresser with a cabinet full of high end wigs of various colors and styles always have loved them; problem is that my scalp is so tender that even chemo caps irritate especially when I dance and perspire a bit!  I went to Collier Design they specialize in hair replacement (non invasive) pieces and alternatives.  They are looking into retrofitting my current wigs with silicon around hair line.  My biopsy derm doc prescribed a topical cortisone liquid which I use but told her since I am super healthy in every other way, I'd choose to lose hair rather than take what she suggested. I immediately went to my nautropath who suggested LDN and LDA.  Very interesting research.....I have been on LDN for about 2 1/2 weeks am starting LDA on Monday. I also got my hair cut.  It was beautiful thick natural curly lovely silver color now broken minaturized barely any depth to color, well you know the story. So!  Am moving into acceptance through prayer, meditation, not hiding it and sharing it with friends. I divorced after 36 years in 2014, Luckily I meant a wonderful man in 2015 prior to the beginning of hair loss and he loves me no matter what.  I think it's very important that we don't suffer in silence!  I am not my hair though it is mine and I am not my emotions though they are mine.  Right?  Be well and thank you AGAIN for responding.

Hey, Thanks for your reply. Currently I'm not living in the states but will very soon. I'm also a citizen in case that has anything to do with receiving help from Xelsource. My concern when I apply for the hardship program is getting stuck in the bureaucratic muck. Since a handful of folks have already been in the trenches I was hoping I could get the ins and outs to have a seamless and hassle-free experience. It's great to hear that the folks over at Xelsource are nice and helpful.
