- I have had alopecia totalis for about 3 years. It has really affected my self esteem and confidence. When i first got alopecia I started to change for the worse. Everybody started to pity me and my friends turned their backs on me. I have now accepted the fact that this is something that I dont have any control over. I pray every night that God will restore my beautiful hair back to me one day.i have spent so much money trying to find something that will grow my hair back. I have succeeded many times only to get disappointed when it falls out again. I havent told my boyfriend about my condition because im afraid that he will leave me.

i am doing o.k too
working yesterday i bought my first human hair
wig i like it because is not so shiny as the synthetic
but i couldn't find the same color to the one i had so i just pick out
one with high lights i hope it looks nice am going to my in laws
tomorrow for there 48th anniversary long time ha?

I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" WHEN THIS HAPPEN TO ME I WAS ALREADY MARRIED IT HAPPEN FOR NO REASON ON MORNING I NOTICE PATCH ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD LATER ANOTHER ONE IN FRONT WHERE I COULD NOT HIDE IT SO I HAD MY
MOTHER SHAVE MY HEAD IT WAS HARD SEEN MY SELF JUST WITH A FEW HAIR HERE AND THERE THE FIRST YEAR WAS THE WORST I GUESS
I WENT TO MANY DOCTORS THEY SAID IT WAS STRESS THEN TYROID I TRY MANY TREATMENTS BUT NO LUCK SO FAR MY HUSBAND BEEN BY ME THRU THIS BUT IN THE BEGINING I DID SENT HIM AWAY I DID NOT WANT HIM TO BE WITH ME BECAUSE HE FELL SORRY FOR ME I WAS SO ANGRY ALL I WANT TO DO IS DYE AT THE TIME I ASK MY SELF WHY ME
HE SAID HE LOVE ME NOT MY HAIR HIM AND MY MOTHER HAS BEEN WITH ME THRU THIS . BEEN THIS WAY IT DOES KEEP ME FROM DOING MANY THINGS I ENJOY DOING BEFORE I WERE A WIG NOW I WORK AND I JUST TRY TO LIVE A (NORMAL LIFE) I AM SAVING FOR A VACUUM WIG
