I'm happily married, blessed with two beautiful children and teach middle school. I developed AA at age 7, AT at 12 and it grew back completely at 15. I had a gorgeous head of hair for the next 20 years and then it started falling out again until finally AU at age 36. I'm now 40 and still hairless. Of course, it's still tough emotionally at times, but I mourned the loss of my hair a long time ago, which is important, and I accept myself for who and what I am: a strong and beautiful person on the inside. I allow myself an unofficial average of 10 minutes per week to feel sorry for myself and then I get over myself...again. I'm excited to be starting a local NAAF support group this year and work on my "book" when I have time. I've experienced the roller coaster ride that is AA over the years, including doctors, numerous treatments, natural remedies, hats, wigs, no wigs, teasing, stares, glares, tears, hugs, therapists...you name it. I'm growing into this hairless skin of mine a little more every day. This alopecian thing really starts to grow on you after awhile. (Sorry, that was bad. :) )
