Yeah, you should give it a try. Saw u live in alberta--most likely races in calg and/or edm this summer. I decided to do my first one 2 weeks before it so dont worry about a ton of time to train for it, just go for it. I like it bc you can train whatever u feel like doing that day--swimming, biking or running, not tied to the same routine or gym everytime you wanna exercise. You end up doing what they call bricks, where you bike then run in one sesh. And like i said, swimming is sweet. You may already swim but if u dont you'll feel the muscles from head to toe after your first workout.
Also, i saw a comment you wrote saying something about good chance of hair recovery after 8-15 mos. That made my day bc im about 7 mos in and i am REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping mine comes back. I would be happy if it took years as long as it comes back. I have ophiasis so i basically have a skin fade, where u can tell it's not shaved that way, but something went wrong w my hair. i cant cry about it bc i know it could be worse. But this hairdo is not...me. I want my old self back. You know what i mean?
Anyway what is the latest w yours?

Thank you Amanda so much for your kind words. Yep the bald area on the right side of the back of my head looks just like a baseball!! The one on the left side a tad smaller. Then I have 4 small, but growing, bald spots on top and the sides of my head. I hold my breath every time I wash what's left of my hair. So far I can cover them, but it's getting more difficult each day. What kind of cream do you use? I've heard about people using them, but I don't have health insurance right now. A friend of mine gave me some steriod cream for eczema which is working and I looked it up and it's recommended for Alopecia too. I'll give it a try. The generic name is:

Fluocinolone Acetonide

Thank you so much for replying to my post. I've been going home from work and just crying. I am the Client Services Manager and Front Desk at a high profile insurance company, so I am the first impression when people come in, so that makes me feel the stress even more - which probably doesn't help my hair loss!
