- I'm small, energetic, motivated, creative and 20 years old. Was diagnosed with AA at the age of 15, and lost all of my hair at 19. Now I'm rocking one and 1/4 eyebrows, wigs and turbans.

After going from having small bald patches that would grow back over a few months, to losing 98% of my hair and half an eyebrow—the journey has been far from easy. I look back now, and cringe over how I would stress out when I discovered tiny little patches that were covered by the thick head of hair I once had.
How I would whinge because my hair was too thick, boring and normal when I was younger, along with other image issues.

Welcome to the International Alopecia Day Group! I would LOVE to have New Zealand in the photo slide show this year! (And, someday I hope to visit New Zealand...it's at the top of our list!)
Hi Amy Rose. I had pretty good results with the ExTrac UV laser (308 nano meters) 3 times a week for about a year. Probably about half my hair came back and has remained for over 2 years now. It's normally used to treat eczema, but can work off label for AA. See if any of your local dermatologists have one and then try to convince them to use it on you.

It also means you can now officially buy crazy wigs and wear whatever you feel like whenever you feel like!
